ARTIST STATEMENT
To me the ritual of making art starts within a meditative state of consciousness, first calm reflection and then total immersion. It is a state of eventually losing one’s self in a subliminal conversation with the work as it takes form. The sensation of nature, energy and life force is the catalyst to my art. Once focused I work intuitively and thoughtfully considering the physicality of the brush strokes, controlled tonal transitions, sculptural forms and complex color harmonies apparent in the various passages that my concept allows. Ultimately what matters most to me in my work at this point in time is capturing in essence the energy, beauty, and sensuality of the nature and beyond. I believe there are multiple interpretations to one piece of artwork and viewer engagement is the ultimate collaborative experience with the artist. May our personal realities bind us in the spirit of a shared visual language.
